What does a word shuffler do?

Where the line randomizer shuffles rows, this shuffles individual words: “the cat sat down” might return “down the sat cat”. Words are pooled from every line, rearranged with an unbiased shuffle, and joined back with single spaces. Spelling never changes, only position, which is exactly what you want for word-order quizzes, writing prompts and flashcard drills.

How to use the Word Shuffler

  1. 1 Give it a sentence or a pile of words.
  2. 2 All words across all lines go into one pool.
  3. 3 They come back in a fresh random order on a single line.
  4. 4 Tweak the input to redraw, then copy the jumble.

What you can use it for

  • Building word-order puzzles or quizzes.
  • Generating random writing or art prompts.
  • Mixing up flashcard words for practice.
  • Creating randomised tag clouds.

Frequently asked questions

Will letters inside words get mixed up?
Never. Whole words move; their spelling is untouched. The Text Scrambler is the tool that jumbles letters within words.
I pasted a multi-line list. Why is the output one line?
Line breaks act as separators, so words from every line are pooled and shuffled together, then joined with single spaces into one line.
Can two shuffles produce the same order?
With a short input, yes — three words have only six arrangements. Longer inputs make repeats vanishingly rare, since ten words already allow over three million orders.
