How do you convert text to title case?

“the quick brown fox” becomes “The Quick Brown Fox”: the first letter of every word goes up, the rest come down. That second part matters — feed it “NASA ANNOUNCES LAUNCH” and you get “Nasa Announces Launch”, so shouty headlines are tamed in the same pass. Every word is capitalised, including short ones like “of” and “the”; use Proper Case if you want those skipped.

How to use the Title Case

  1. 1 Paste the heading or sentence that needs title casing.
  2. 2 Each word’s first letter is capitalised; the remainder is lowercased.
  3. 3 Review short words like “of” — this style capitalises them all.
  4. 4 Copy the finished title.

What you can use it for

  • Formatting blog post and article titles.
  • Capitalising headings and section names.
  • Tidying up product or page names.
  • Preparing menu or navigation labels.

Frequently asked questions

Does it capitalise small words like “of” and “and”?
Yes, every word gets a capital, which suits labels and plain headings. For AP-style titles that keep short connector words lowercase, use the Proper Case converter instead.
What does it do with text typed in ALL CAPS?
It lowercases everything after each first letter, so “FINAL REPORT 2026” comes out as “Final Report 2026” instead of staying shouty.
How are hyphenated words like “well-known” treated?
The hyphenated token counts as one word, so only its leading letter changes: “well-known” becomes “Well-known”, not “Well-Known”.
